As a Private Pilot you can fly any airplane that you're rated to fly. With your Private Pilot certificate you can have fun flying with your friends and family. 

FAA Minimum Requirements to get your Private Pilot License:   

1. Age: 17 Years (16 to Fly Solo)
2. Total Flight Time: 40 Hours
3. Flight Instruction Time: 20 Hours
4. Solo Flight Time: 10 Hours
5. 3rd-Class FAA Medical Certificate
6. FAA Written Test
7. FAA Practical Test 

The national average time for students to complete private pilot training is around 65-70 hrs. However, there is no minimum age to start flying lessons.

As a Instrument Rated Pilot you are now trained to fly through clouds, low visibility, etc. 

FAA prerequisite minimums for Instrument Training:    

1. Private Pilot License
2. Cross-country time: 50 Hours PIC
3. Simulated or Actual Instrument flight time: 40 Hours
4. Instrument instruction: 15 Hours
5. FAA Written Test
6. FAA Practical Test

As a Commercial Pilot you can get paid for your services as a pilot.

Minimum requirements to get a Commercial Pilot Certificate:

1. Private Pilot Certificate
2. Age: 18 Years
3. Total Flight Time: 250 Hours
4. Flight Instruction:   20 Hours
5. Complex Aircraft or TAA Flight Time: 10 Hours
6. 3rd-Class FAA Medical Certificate
7.  FAA Written Test
8. FAA Practical Test
